Karl Lagerfeld designed the Boy Collection as an interpretation of the boyish charm that Coco Chanel was known for. Karl was stated as saying that the very spirit of Chanel was inspired by Boy Capel, the love of her life; which is why this new collection is called the “Boy Chanel.” A slight change of pace from the usual Chanel designs, this bag is made of beautiful glossy patent leather and unique Plexiglass CC closure. This particular bag is the original medium size of the collection and features a long chain-link strap with a leather pad that can be used as a long strap or looped around as a shoulder bag and a unique plexiglass CC closure. Current retail price of the ‘old’ style medium size is $5900.
The exterior patent leather is clean but has some darkening and wear along the bottom corners, a few marks, and some discoloration on the back of the bag. The strap is lightly creased. The hardware remains bright and crisp with light scratches. The interior leather is pristine throughout and shows no wear.
